On May 28th, professor wang xiaohui, director of harbor and navigation department and principal of hydraulic engineering department of college of Ocean science and engineering, and 30 teachers and students from harbor and navigation department visited Shanghai estuarine and coastal scientific research center.
The teachers and students from the port and navigation department visited the large physics model test hall of the research center. Gu Fengfeng, Senior Engineer of Estuary and Coastal Research Center, presented classic cases of Yangtze River Estuary deep water channel for teachers and students, and Liu Jie, Director of Estuary and Coastal Research Center, introduced relevant knowledge of channel management for teachers and students. Later, relevant leaders of Estuarine and Coastal Research Center communicated with teachers and students. Professor Wang Xiaohui said that Shanghai Estuarine and Coastal Research Center and our department's major direction were consistent, and she hoped that both sides could have more opportunities for in-depth cooperation and exchange in student training, scientific research and other aspects.
Shanghai Estuary and Coastal Research Center is affiliated to the Yangtze Estuary Waterway Administration Bureau. It has carried out related scientific research and experiments on the Yangtze Estuary Deepwater Waterway Regulation Project, domestic and foreign waterway transportation projects, and estuarine and coastal engineering construction, and solved many technical problems. The Center signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with our institute in 2017, and has a long-term cooperation in course construction and industry-university-research cooperation.
