On September 22, 2023, the Department of Shipping and Ocean Engineering of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering organized graduating students and industrial design students of Xu Beihong Art Academy to visit the Polar Research Center of China and carry out an internship on the polar research ship Snow Dragon.
The captain of the Snow Dragon and the political commissar personally received the students who visited the internship and welcomed the students. Snow Dragon political commissar made a detailed introduction for the students, and said: I hope the students through this Snow Dragon internship, understand the significance of China's polar science, but also look forward to the students one day to participate in the development of China's polar ship, become the backbone of China's polar science development.
Through this visit and internship, the students gained a lot, deeply felt the shock brought by the polar research ship, and also understood the process of China's polar research to overcome the difficulties. Students majoring in shipping said that in-depth visits to understand the Snow Dragon are very important for students to learn and apply professional knowledge. At the same time, feel the polar spirit, and contribute to the development of China's shipbuilding power and Marine power in the future work. Xu Beihong Art Academy Industrial design students from the professional perspective of in-depth study of ship appearance, outfitting, interior design and other aspects of the design elements, they believe that this is a very successful industrial design case.
